We have a collection of tens of thousands of cars in the MoD and Chinese ones represent a tiny fraction.
But whether you’re driving a vehicle from China or a non-Chinese car, our instruction to our staff is not to plug Ministry of Defence technology into their vehicle, not to have conversations at a secret level in any kind of vehicle, due to the increasing threats of surveillance that are present in every single vehicle, to restrict those secret conversations in protected areas. This is a wise and reasonable thing for everyone worried about safety.

After it was put to him that it would be wise for the ministry to stop using every cars from China, the minister responded: ‘That’s exactly what we’re investigating at the present time.”
